Yes, we can use digital tools such as Google Translate or call upon an interpreter during meetings (English, Spanish, Arabic), according to your preference.
Our location is confidential; a counsellor will give you the address when making an appointment. We have an office in La Malbaie and one in Baie-Saint-Paul. In some cases, other meeting locations are also possible; do not hesitate to ask the counsellor.

– It is possible to use the Mobilité Collective Charlevoix service. CALACS can pay for the round-trip ticket upon request. You will find the schedules at this address : https://www.mobilitecharlevoix.ca/

– A CALACS counsellor can pick you up at your home, depending on the distance you live and your comfort level and that of your counsellor

– CALACS can also pay taxi fees. You must request this from your counsellor before going to your appointment.

No. You can benefit from CALACS services without having to file a police report, and without any pressure. However, if you wish to file a police report, we can accompany you. We can take the time to look together at the advantages and disadvantages, as well as your motivations and expectations.
All of our services are free.

– For individual support with a counsellor, 20 individual sessions are allocated, but the number can vary according to your needs.

– For group meetings, it is 8 to 10 meetings for a complete session. You can join the group at any time during the session. The duration of a meeting is 2.5 hours, and takes place during the day or evening, depending on the sessions.

– Yes. There is no limit to the number of requests for help.
– If at the end of the 20 individual support sessions you feel the need to continue support, you can make another request. Depending on the waiting list, there could however be a delay and/or a change of counsellor.
– If after participating in the support group, you wish to start individual support or have legal support, it is possible to do so.
– The number of legal, medical, or other accompaniments is unlimited.

Yes, it is possible to have meetings via Zoom or TEAMS, in accordance with our remote intervention protocol.

No, if you do not wish to tell about the assault, you will in no case be required to do so. However, if you wish to tell your story, a counsellor will be ready to listen to you without judgment.

CALACS is not a 24/7 service; you can reach a counsellor during business hours.

Yes. Our counsellors will assess whether support is appropriate based on your emotional availability. If needed, and with your consent, we may also refer you to a specialized addiction support organization.
From age 14, the law allows adolescents to consent to care in complete confidentiality. This means that your parents do not have to be informed and that what you say will be confidential; they will not have access to your file. However, we are required, by law, to report any situation of sexual assault to the Youth Protection Department (DPJ). This process will be done in the most humane and transparent way possible.

No. CALACS is a feminist organization that offers help services to women and adolescent girls aged 14 and over only.

However, there are help resources for men. You can contact us by phone or email and we will refer you to the right resource.

If you have doubts, you are right to seek help. Any sexual behaviour that was unwanted or non-consensual and that creates consequences in your life will be taken seriously by our counsellors; they will believe you and listen to you.

Yes! We can accompany you at any stage of the process: in the choice of filing a police report or not, filing a police report and giving a statement, court support with you on the day itself, accompanying you to complete the victim impact statement form, preparing for the verdict, etc.
