    Outreach Intervention

This practice allows our counsellors to get closer to the community by offering opportunities for exchange and information.

    Objectives :

    1. Raise awareness among the population about sexual assault
    2. Create contact with more vulnerable populations
    3. Make ourselves known and promote CALACS services
    4. Distribute prevention materials (condoms, posters, etc.)

Public or festive events (festivals, farmers’ market, student parties, etc.)

We collaborate with several partners in the region to ensure a presence at student parties, music festivals, and other public events in order to create contact with festival-goers, distribute prevention materials, and promote the organization.

Tour of organizations, public and private services

CALACS visits several organizations to raise awareness and inform people about sexual assault, consent, myths and realities, or the consequences experienced following sexual assault. Through workshops or training sessions, we visit:

    • Seniors’ residences
    • Association des personnes handicapées de Charlevoix inc.
    • Youth centres
    • Women’s centres and family organizations
    • Any other organization, upon request.

    Bar and resto-bar tour

CALACS collaborates with bars and restaurants in the region to raise awareness among bar owners and employees about sexual assault in the context of intoxication. We also distribute materials accessible to patrons.

    Information Booths

We regularly hold information booths at different events/settings. Whether in secondary schools and CEGEPs in the region or at farmers’ markets during the summer, these are privileged moments to create connections and promote CALACS services.

    Awareness Campaigns

In partnership with school teams or with other organizations, we develop different prevention campaigns on sexual violence. We are committed to creating campaigns that are disseminated both to the general public and to more specific populations (teens, boys/men, people living with disabilities, seniors, etc.).

We offer, upon request, various training sessions on the subject of sexual assault.
